gratitude
I know it's cliche but I've found a writer who manages to deliver the whole gratitude message with no hint of corniness ヾ(@⌒ー⌒@)ノ
The book's name is The Unexpected Joy of the Ordinary.
The book itself has a rather messy, convoluted structure. But that's what I like about it. Every turn of the page promises something new, something that isn't a repetition of the pages before. In a way, it is practicising what it preaches: helping me find joy in the mundane task of reading a book.
I had an examination today and while waiting for the bells to ring and the students to flood in, I started panicking. Apparently, my identification card had slipped out of my file and I couldn't find it! Luckily, I had brought my bus card (which also doubled as my library card), which could also be used to identify me.
Unfortunately, I sort of disliked using my bus card as my picture was... very ugly. That's why I hid it in my pocket, deciding to only take it out once I was in the examination hall. This way, nobody would see it!
Despite my foresight to keep my bus card on me at all times, I still felt guilty about losing my identification card. It cost money to get a replacement, and quite a lot, at that. Needless to say, my mood was thoroughly ruined.
Then came a ray of sunshine beaming from above: my classmates called out my name and woe and behold, my identify card! Apparently, a friend of my classmates had picked it up at the canteen. Now, it was safely tucked into my file, right where it belonged.
Because of this kind deed and some good luck, I could enter the exam hall with a composed stride and fully immerse myself in the paper I was to be sitting for.
I appreciate my classmates (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
