starvation on a cold night

 It's 8:06 pm and I haven't had dinner yet ≡(▔﹏▔)≡

My stomach is churning and groaning, prying its way out of my abdomen to get some food. Any sustenance, please!

Unfortunately, my fat ass is too lazy to get up and go get dinner. Instead, I sit here, fingers going click-clack on my keyboard. The muscles in my fingers use up what little glucose I have left circulating in my bloodstream to produce the words you see on your screen.

Actually, this is medically untrue. You feel hungry when your stomach is empty. At this point, your stomach might actually digest itself. That's how most people die of starvation. The other type is when your small intestine can't absorb anything that you eat, so you die even though you feel full. In my opinion, that's worse.

So, the reason why I'm hungry but still energetic is because my hunger has nothing to do with low blood glucose levels. That is thanks to our liver, which converts excess glucose into glycogen for storage. In times of need, such as now, the glycogen is transformed back into glucose for my muscles to use.

In this cold night, I have no frights (~ ̄▽ ̄)~
